Nagging low back tightness, a flared lead hip, clubhead speed that keeps slipping. Those are physical limitations, not swing flaws. A Doctor of Physical Therapy finds the restriction in your kinetic chain and treats it one-on-one.
Every golf swing is a full-body athletic movement. It needs mobility in the hips, thoracic spine and ankles, balanced by stability in the core and shoulders. When any link in that chain is restricted, the body borrows the motion from somewhere else. The result is familiar to golfers across the Gulf Coast: low back tightness after 18, a lead hip that flares up, and clubhead speed that quietly disappears.
The instinct is to change the swing or buy new equipment. At NeoLife, we start with the body, because a physical restriction will keep producing the same compensation no matter how many lessons you take.
When the mid-back cannot rotate, the lumbar spine twists to make up the difference. That is a common route to disc irritation and the low back tightness that shows up on the back nine.
A locked lead hip blocks proper weight shift on the downswing and pushes shear force into the knee and pelvis. Golfers feel it as a flared lead hip or lead knee pain.
The scapular stabilizers have to slow the club down after impact. When they are weak, the rotator cuff and the medial elbow absorb the load instead. That is how golfer's elbow and rotator cuff tendonitis start.
Available at All 4 Gulf Coast Locations
Unlike a group class or a generic gym workout, your evaluation is conducted one-on-one by a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. It is a clinical assessment, not a fitness test.
Hip, thoracic spine and ankle rotation measured side to side, plus hands-on joint assessment to tell a stiff joint from a guarded muscle.
Whether your glutes, core and scapular stabilizers fire in the right order when you are actually loaded, not just lying on a table.
The strength that protects your joints after impact. Most golfers train the swing and never train the brakes.
Where your body is borrowing motion it does not have, and which link to fix first so the rest of the chain settles down.
From there, treatment pairs hands-on orthopedic manual therapy and functional dry needling with a strength progression built around the specific link you are missing. Because every session at NeoLife is one-on-one, your therapist can re-test as you go and adjust the plan instead of handing you a printout.
The NeoVerse Pathway
NeoGolf Performance & Rehab programming is not one appointment. It is a pathway across three NeoVerse brands, and your therapist coordinates the handoffs so nothing gets lost between them.

One-on-one evaluation and treatment by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Manual therapy, functional dry needling and targeted strength progressions to remove the physical limitation behind your pain or lost speed.

Common Questions
No. Mississippi is a full direct-access state, so you can schedule a physical therapy evaluation at NeoLife without a physician referral. Call (228) 280-8120 or request an evaluation online and we will get you in.
Your evaluation is one-on-one with a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy. We assess thoracic spine and hip rotation, ankle mobility, lead-hip internal rotation, shoulder blade control, core and deceleration strength, and how those pieces work together under load. You leave with a clear picture of which physical limitation is driving your pain or costing you speed, and a plan to fix it.
Physical therapy fixes the body, not the swing itself. Many swing faults are compensations for a physical restriction: a locked lead hip, a stiff mid-back, a weak scapular stabilizer. When we restore that mobility or strength, the compensation often disappears and your swing coach has something better to work with. For swing instruction and TrackMan-measured data, NeoGolf is the next stop.
The physical therapy evaluation and treatment are available at all four NeoLife clinics: D'Iberville, Ocean Springs, Gulfport and Bay St. Louis. The full NeoGolf Performance & Rehab pathway is anchored at our D'Iberville flagship, where NeoFit Performance Institute is on the second floor and NeoGolf's TrackMan facility is nearby, with NeoGolf also in Ocean Springs.
Think of it as Recover, Perform, Play. NeoLife handles the rehab and the movement screen. Once you are moving well, NeoFit Performance Institute builds golf-specific strength and power. NeoGolf gives you 24/7 indoor golf with TrackMan technology to measure whether the gains show up as clubhead speed and ball flight. Your therapist can coordinate the handoff so nothing gets lost between the three.
Physical therapy evaluation and treatment for a diagnosed problem such as low back pain, golfer's elbow or hip pain is typically covered like any other PT visit, and we accept most major plans. Performance training at NeoFit is cash-pay. If you are unsure which side of that line you fall on, call us and we will walk you through it before you book.
