Specialized treatment for lateral and medial epicondylitis using manual therapy, dry needling, and progressive tendon loading — eliminating elbow pain at its source.
Tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis) are overuse injuries affecting the tendons that attach to the elbow. Tennis elbow affects the outside of the elbow and is caused by repetitive wrist extension and gripping. Golfer's elbow affects the inside of the elbow and results from repetitive wrist flexion and pronation.
Despite their names, these conditions are not limited to athletes. They commonly affect office workers (from mouse and keyboard use), manual laborers, musicians, and anyone who performs repetitive hand and wrist movements. The underlying problem is typically tendon degeneration (tendinopathy) rather than acute inflammation.
Modern evidence-based treatment focuses on progressive tendon loading, manual therapy, and addressing contributing factors — not rest alone. At NeoLife, we use a comprehensive approach that includes dry needling, manual therapy, and eccentric/isometric loading programs to restore tendon health and eliminate pain.
Treatment begins with a detailed assessment of your elbow, wrist, shoulder, and cervical spine. Many cases of persistent elbow pain have contributing factors from the neck or shoulder that must be addressed for full recovery.
Our evidence-based approach includes progressive tendon loading exercises (isometric → eccentric → heavy slow resistance), manual therapy to the elbow, forearm, and cervical spine, functional dry needling of the wrist extensors/flexors and forearm musculature, grip and wrist strengthening progressions, work and sport-specific modifications, and education on tendon biology and realistic recovery timelines.
The latest research supports progressive loading as the cornerstone of tendinopathy treatment. NeoLife's one-on-one model allows your therapist to precisely monitor your loading progression and adjust in real time — something that's impossible in a multi-patient clinic.
